Dolly Wants You to Share Your “Imagination Moment”
Joining forces with the social network Google+, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library started a campaign to hear families’ “Imagination Moments”. The nonprofit organization defined an Imagination Moment as a time when reading changed a family in a positive way. Since 1996, the Imagination Library and program champions around the world (United States, Canada, and United Kingdom) have distributed more than 40 MILLION books to children! WOW!
To celebrate that milestone, and to make use of being a featured organization on Google for Nonprofits, the idea of the “Imagination Moments” was born. Not only did the Imagination Library get a chance to hear from their families, but also their Support Team, SD Professionals, got the opportunity to give back. The winner of the contest (chosen by popular vote on the Imagination Library’s Facebook page) received a $500 gift from SD Professionals to be awarded to the winner’s local Imagination Library.
The video used to promote the contest was created mainly by use of graphic animation. The talented animators at SD Professionals stayed hard at work to create the needed elements and make them perform for the viewers. Also, Imagination Library families provided some wonderful pictures of their children and playtime with their books.
What a wonderful project to be involved with and the “Imagination Moments” that were shared along the way were very inspiring!
