Looking For A Lady With Fangs And A Moustache

 

THE PROJECT

SD Professionals was engaged by our film distribution partner, Abramorama, to create what we call an audience engineering plan for “Looking For A Lady With Fangs And A Moustache,” the latest film by award-winning director Khyentse Norbu. Audience engineering is the art and science of using digital marketing tools and strategies to quickly and efficiently build an audience of potential consumers. The work was all done in support of a CUSTOM premiere at The Rubin, a museum dedicated to the collection, display, and preservation of the art and cultures of the Himalayas, plus a secondary nationwide release via Watch Now @ Home Cinema Release.

This particular film had global appeal since it was based on concepts of Buddhism, one of the largest religions in the world.  So how to creatively engage the audience? It’s important to note that in terms of online marketing, we were starting from scratch.  The film needed both an awareness and a conversion campaign.

Sometimes simple is better, and for this site we used Squarespace to build it. Just because it's simple doesn’t mean it’s not effective. Speed of the build was key; we needed to ramp up quickly and Squarespace allowed us to do that. 

Visually, the film itself was stunning, so we needed to create a website that was also stunning. The graphics, typography and interactive elements all needed to be incredible.
